Symbols

Writer's picture: Victoria MonetVictoria Monet

Symbols are just symbols?

But symbols have meaning

Symbols are not an end

But they can be a meeting

Place where we knock

On the door to find culture

Feast at the table, eat with vultures

Drink the Madeira, aged over time

Take a seat with the finest of them

Revealing their secrets as they

Whisper the gossip of the nation

Here we find heartbeat

Rhythm and rhyme

Symbols clash symbols

Like fireworks in the sky

Burst lights and color

Then fade out and die

Show us the darkness

Of the sky behind

No cheers for this part

As wait in the night

Wait here, unsettled

Confusion inside

Wait here, steady

Till new symbols arise
